HO CHI MINH-VINH LONG-CAN THO-HUE-DMZ-DA NANG

Day 1: Arrival in Ho Chi Minh (L, D)  Welcome to Viet Nam. We will pick you up at Tan Son Nhat airport and transfer to downtown for check in at your hotel. After lunch, we will visit historic landmarks including the Old Sai Gon Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, the former Presidential Palace, the war Remnants Museum and Chinatown. Have dinner and stay overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh-Cu Chi (B,L) ToDay, we will visit Cu Chi Tunnels an important base during the American and cai-be.jpgVietnamese War because of its strategic location. The tunnels were built by Viet Cong with a 200 km long network of tunnels connecting command posts, hospitals, shelters and weapon factories. After lunch, we will continue to visit Cao Dai Temple. We then return to Ho Chi Minh City for overnight stay.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh-Vinh Long-Can Tho (B, D) Transfer to Vinh Long by coach stopping on the way at Dong Tam snake farm and the former base of the US 9th Division and Riverine Units, we then visit Ap Bac village-site of a ground battle between the Independence guerillas and the Army of the Republic of Viet Nam. Upon arrival to Cai Be, we will take a motorized boat ride to see the colorful floating market with local people selling, buying and exchanging goods on the river. Walk around to see orchards, rice paper making and rice crisps production process. We will also cruise through a village to see the peaceful, transquil life of villagers and admire the marvelous natural setting of the Mekong Delta region.Arrive in Can Tho for dinner. Overnight in Can Tho

Day 4: Can Tho-Ho Chi Minh (B,D)  Boad ride to Cai Rang floating market where the local people gather on the ChoBenThanhSG.jpgriver to trade fruit and vegetables and other farm products. We will return to Ho Chi Minh City. Have dinner and stay overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 5: Ho Chi Minh-Hue (B,D) Fly to Hue, the former Imperial capital of Viet Nam. We will take a boat trip on the Perfume River to Visit Thien Mu Pagoda. We will continue on to visit the Imperial Citadel, site of a bloody street battle between the North Vietnamese Army and US Marine Corps during the Tet Ofensive of 1968. In the afternoon, we will visit Tu Duc's Tomb, Khai Ding 's Tomb and Dong Ba Market. Enjoy dinner and listen to Hue court music. Overnight in Hue City.

Day 6:Demilitarized Zone ( B, L) Khe-Sanh01.jpg  In the early morning we drive to DMZ. Places of military significance in the area include the former American Marine base of Khe Sanh, the Rockpile, Camp Carrol, Dakrong Bridge and the Ho Chi Minh Trails. After lunch, we will continue on to visit Truong Son Cemetery, Hien Luong Bridge, Ben Hai River and Doc Mieu Fire Base. On the way back, we will stop at the Old Citadel of Quang Tri- site of a violent battle during the NVA Easter Offensive of 1972. Return to Hue City and rest Overnight in Hue City.

Day 7: Hue-Da Nang (B,D) Head to Da Nang on the way we stop at Camp Eagle , the former US special Forces base. We will cross over Hai Van Pass with its spectacular panorama of the coastline. After lunch, we will also visit the Marble Mountains which concealed a cave that provided a safe da-nang02.jpgsanctuary for the guerillas during the war.We will check in at the hotel. Overnight in Da Nang City

Day 8: Da Nang-Departure (B)
